The Federal Government of Germany has approved an amendment to the Federal Police Act that expands the authority of federal police to intercept drones considered a threat to critical infrastructure. According to Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt, the new measures will allow the use of both technical and physical countermeasures—including electromagnetic pulses, signal jamming, GPS disruption, and, when necessary, the physical shoot-down of hostile drones.
