Germany is weighing a major procurement of new armored vehicles, potentially acquiring up to 1,000 Leopard 2 main battle tanks and 2,500 Boxer infantry fighting vehicles.

The initiative also outlines the formation of seven combat brigades—totaling around 35,000 troops—for deployment under NATO command.
