Following the IDF’s recent confirmation that it has been deploying laser systems to intercept Hezbollah drones, Rafael Advanced Defense Systems announced it will unveil several upgraded laser interceptors at this month’s Paris Air Show.

Leading the lineup is the Iron Beam 450, an enhanced version of the existing Iron Beam system, which is slated to enter IDF service by late 2025. Rafael describes it as the most advanced high-energy laser air defense system in the world, capable of neutralizing drones, rockets, and other aerial threats at ranges up to 10 kilometers.

Also on display will be the Iron Beam M, a mobile variant designed for deployment on trucks to safeguard forces and strategic sites, along with the Lite Beam, a compact laser intended for integration on armored vehicles to provide defense during ground operations.
