Another F/A-18F “Super Hornet” has been lost in the Red Sea following an arresting gear failure aboard the USS Harry S. Truman (CVN-75). The incident caused the aircraft to overshoot the flight deck and crash into the water. Both the pilot and the weapon systems officer safely ejected and were rescued by helicopter, sustaining only minor injuries. The U.S. Navy has launched an investigation. This marks the second Super Hornet lost by the Truman in two weeks—the previous involved an F/A-18E and tow tractor that fell overboard during evasive maneuvers aimed at dodging Houthi fire near Yemen.
