Hussein Shariatmadari, managing editor of Kayhan, a hard-line conservative Iranian newspaper, stated:

“Following the American attack on the Fordow site, it is now our turn to respond immediately. As a first step, we must bomb the American fleet in Bahrain and simultaneously close the Strait of Hormuz to American, British, German, and French vessels.”
