The United States has informed Switzerland that its order of five MIM-104 “Patriot” PAC-3 MSE surface-to-air missile batteries—originally placed with Raytheon in 2022 and scheduled for delivery beginning in 2026—will be delayed indefinitely. The systems intended for Switzerland are now being redirected to bolster Ukraine’s defenses. All currently available Patriot batteries are being fast-tracked for delivery to various European countries, including Germany, Norway, and Romania, which will then transfer some of their existing systems to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
