Two children have died and seven others remain in critical condition following a mass shooting earlier today at the Annunciation Catholic Church and School in Minneapolis, Minnesota. CBS News reports that at least ten children are being treated at a nearby hospital, with six more admitted to Children’s Minnesota.
According to Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O’Hara, the victims who were killed were 8 and 10 years old. A total of 17 people were injured, including 14 children. The shooter, a man in his early 20s with no significant criminal record, was armed with a rifle, shotgun, and pistol, and reportedly fired through the church windows during morning mass. He later died by a self-inflicted gunshot behind the building. Police are currently investigating his vehicle.
