According to a Financial Times report, the U.S. Commerce Department’s Bureau of Industry and Security, acting under directives from the Trump administration, has issued notices to several U.S.-based chip design software companies—including Cadence, Synopsys, and Siemens EDA—ordering them to cease all further chip design sales to corporate entities and other customers in China.
