Tensions Rise Between Dutch PM and President Herzog Over Gaza and EU Policy

During a recent phone call, the Dutch Prime Minister reportedly told Israeli President Isaac Herzog that the Netherlands would support suspending Israel’s participation in the EU’s Horizon scientific research program if the bloc concludes that Israel is violating international law in Gaza.

President Herzog later pushed back on social media, saying: “That was not the tone of our conversation at all. I’m also disappointed that you made no mention of the hostages held in Gaza or called for their release.”
