Dmitry Karlik was a professional hitman for a Russian mobster. He carried out "at least 10 executions" and is currently serving six life sentences in Israel for six murders committed in the country. Russian authorities have sent prosecutors to Israel to expedite Karlik's deportation to Russia, with the intent of securing "a pardon for the murders through a contract to fight in Ukraine." According to a new law signed by Putin, no matter the crime committed, the convict will receive a full pardon if they return alive from a combat deployment in Ukraine.
