Der Spiegel reports that an EU diplomat was assaulted in Vladivostok, with indications that the attackers may have been agents of Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB). The diplomat, a woman on an official mission in Russia and accompanied by a French colleague, had planned to visit EU consulates during her stay.

According to the report, a vehicle approached her, and two men emerged, threatening and physically assaulting her. The publication suggests there is credible reason to believe the assailants were affiliated with the FSB.
