A massive explosion shook the outskirts of Vilnius, Lithuania, early this morning after a fire broke out at a liquefied gas filling station in a railway yard. The flames spread to a nearby train, igniting at least eight railcars and triggering the blast. According to the Lithuanian Interior Ministry, the cause is believed to be a “violation of safety regulations,” and there is currently no indication that the incident is connected to today’s airspace intrusion from Belarus or to any other act of foul play.
